COVID-19 Update on 14 April
As of Tuesday 14th April The Welcome Project will be closed for Day Centre services.
This move is to ensure that as far as possible we all observe Social Distancing and follow guidance from Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government's to shut to stop the spread of this virus to the most vulnerable. Over the past three weeks, a tremendous amount of work has gone into ensuring that all Rough Sleepers have been accommodated in Redbridge so nobody need be on the streets.
Any Rough Sleepers that are new to the streets can access services by attending
This decision has not been taken lightly and after much consideration, we feel the best way to support those who were previously homeless is to provide assistance to them in their own accommodation, thereby supporting Government guidance to Stay at Home, Protect the NHS and Save Lives.
The Welcome Centre continues to receive donations of food and this will be prepared and distributed to those in Hostels and B&Bs on a daily basis.
We would kindly welcome any donations of food items, offers to buy takeaways or monetary donations, to enable us to offer this alternative service.
